BREAKING NEWS: Governor Hogan asks State Prosecutors to Begin a Criminal Investigation of Mayor Pugh and University of Maryland Medical System's book deal.

April 1, 2019

In a letter released Monday Governor Hogan formally asks that the state prosecutor begin an investigation of Mayor Catherine Pugh's business dealings with the University of Maryland Medical System; especially her lucrative book deal.

UMMS paid Pugh $500,000  for her self-published, children's book series, Healthy Holly. The deal started when she was a UMMS board member.

During a press conference last week the mayor called the deal a mistake.

Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot is calling for her resignation.
